What is My IP Relay Number?
My IP Relay Number is a service that allows you to receive incoming voice calls as text instant messages through AOL Instant Messenger. You must register and activate your My IP Relay Number before you can receive calls through it.

How does a voice caller contact me on my wireless device?
The voice caller simply dials your personal My IP Relay Number. They will be connected to a relay operator. The operator will send you an instant message through AIM informing you that you have an incoming call.

How do I register for My IP Relay Number?
To get a My IP Relay Number you must register for the service here . Once you have registered you will receive an e-mail with your personal My IP Relay Number and instructions for activating that number.

Do I get billed for receiving a call on my wireless device?
You will not be billed for an incoming call. Your regular device service charges apply.

Does the person calling me get charged a fee?
Depending on where the voice caller is calling from and the number you are assigned, there may be a long distance toll charge.

How do I receive a message if someone calls and I am not online?
Callers can leave a text message that will be delivered to your registered e-mail address when you are not available.

I received an e-mail with a phone number, how do I activate/validate it?
To activate your My IP Relay Number, log into AOL Instant Messenger and send a message to the screen name "My IP Relay." Once you have connected to My IP Relay, type "activate" and send. Enter the number that has been assigned to you and send. This number is sent to your e-mail after you have registered. Once you have activated your number, you may give your number to whomever you like.

How many times do I need to activate My IP Relay Number?
You only need to activate your My IP Relay Number once.

I activated my number and received confirmation but it is still not working. Why?
If your AIM is set to "Allow only those on my Buddy List to contact me," you will not receive calls. If you would like to receive calls from voice callers, you must change the AIM privacy setting to "Allow all users to contact me." For further instruction go to: http://www.ip-relay.com/myiprelay.htm.

I am trying to register for My IP Relay Number but my city and state are not listed. What should I do?
Choose the location most convenient to you from the list provided. IP-Relay is constantly adding new cities to our list so please check our site frequently. If you would like to change your "My IP Relay Number" in the future, you may do so through Customer Service.

How do I cancel my IP-Relay Number?
Contact Customer Service here. Provide your My IP Relay Number, Screen Name and password and tell the agent that you wish to cancel the service.

I have more than one AIM Screen Name. Can I use more than one with My IP Relay Number?
Yes. You may link several Screen Names to your My IP Relay Number. You set the order in which My IP Relay attempts to contact you. When voice callers dial your number, the call will find you, no matter which screen names you are using. To add more Screen Names to your existing My IP Relay Number, go to http://www.ip-relay.com/myiprelaynumber/maintainRon.jsp. Note: When you add new AIM Screen Name(s), you must re-validate your My IP Relay Number with the new Screen Name(s).
