How do I make a call?
It's easy! Go to www.IP-RELAY.com and enter the 10-digit phone number into the Quick Connect Now! window and click the "Call Now!" button.
Can I Place a 911 call using IP-Relay?
We recommend that you use a TTY to dial 911 directly. In cases where that is not possible,
please provide the Relay Operator with the location (Address, City or State) of the emergency and type of
emergency and a call back number if possible.
How do I enter special instructions?
Click on Classic web text calling. Type any special instructions you have and the number you want to dial.
The operator didn't receive my special instructions. Why?
Special instructions must be entered before the telephone number.
How do I reach a Spanish Relay Operator?/Cómo me comunico con una operadora en Español?
Type 'Spanish Operator' and wait for the operator to respond. When the operator
responds, type the number you wish to dial. /Escriba "Operadora en Español" y espere que
la operadora le responda. Cuando la operadora responde, escriba el número que usted desea
discar.
Can I save my conversation?
Yes, to save your IP-RELAY.com conversation, click on save at the bottom of your computer
screen before closing the IP-RELAY.com conversation window.
Can I make a 1-900 call through IP-RELAY.com?
An FCC Order on Reconsideration, released March 14, 2003, waived the requirement to
provide access to pay-per-call services over IP relay. IP-RELAY.com no longer provides
access to pay-per-call services . If you wish to make a pay-per-call, please dial your
state relay operator for assistance.
Can I make a 2LVCO or 2LHCO call?
Yes. To use 2LVCO or 2LHCO, you need a phone with conference calling capabilities and
three-way calling service available through your local phone service. Then follow the
steps below:
Log on to http//www.IP-RELAY.com.
When Relay Operator answers, type in your telephone number.
Relay Operator will call you back.
Pick up the phone and place the RO on hold by pressing "flash" or "hold" button.
Dial the number of the person you want to reach.
Then press the "flash" or "conference" button to connect the RO.
The RO will inform you of the status of the call.
For 2LVCO:
When the person you are trying to reach is on the phone the RO will type the voice users
communication and you may speak directly to the voice user.
For 2LHCO:
When the person you are trying to reach is on the phone the RO will will speak to the voice
user and you can listen to their response
