PURPLE's PRIVACY POLICY for IP-Relay Internet relay services (“IP-Relay”) The policies below apply to IP-Relay and related services provided by Purple Communications, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, "Purple") as part of our commitment to safeguarding your privacy when using Purple services.

General

Purple respects the privacy of every individual who uses our IP-Relay internet relay service, so we've outlined our policies regarding if and how we obtain any personally identifiable information or content of communications in connection with your use of our IP-Relay relay system. Even though our IP-Relay service is provided at no charge to you, we believe you should have a reasonable expectation of privacy, consistent with state and federal laws and regulations.

No Monitoring or Recording of Conversations

First and foremost, please remember that you should not rely on IP-Relay when placing a life-threatening emergency calls as your calls are not readily traceable.

Be assured that Purple does not monitor or record any of the content of the communications transmitted over its IP-Relay relay services (unless expressly required by judicial process on a case-by-case basis). Upon the instantaneous transmission of each message, the content is only available to the sender's and/or recipient's communications device(s).

Purple and one or more common carriers will track IP-Relay traffic (for example, origination and destination points, and duration of call) for purposes of validating costs to be borne by such entities as the National Exchange Carrier's Association.

Personally Identifiable Information

Purple will not collect any personally identifiable information about you (that is, your name, address, telephone number, or email address) unless you provide it to us voluntarily or agree to receive certain qualified communications from us. Any such information that we do collect will not be sold to any third party; however, in order to properly provide you with the IP-Relay service, it may become necessary at times to share limited information with communications infrastructure providers which have expressly agreed and are bound by law to abide by proper privacy obligations. Purple will not use personally identifiable information submitted to IP-Relay to collect debts owed by current or former customers of Purple or its subsidiaries.

If you do not want your personally identifiable information collected, please do not submit it to us. If you have already submitted this information and would like for us to remove it from our records or if you wish to update your information, please contact us at the email address listed at the bottom of this policy. We will use reasonable efforts to delete your information from our existing files or to update our records, as appropriate. When you do provide us with personally-identifiable information, we may use that information in the following ways, unless stated otherwise:

• we may store and process that information to better understand customer needs and how we can improve our products and services for customers
• we may use that information to contact you with new promotions and announcements if you have previously provided your permission

Purple is committed to giving you the choice whether or not we use your information for marketing purposes or share information with business partners.

Children

Purple has no intention of collecting any personally-identifiable information from or about individuals under 18 years of age. If a child has provided us with personally identifiable information without the consent of a parent or guardian, a parent or guardian of that child should contact us at the email address listed at the bottom of this policy if they would like this information deleted from our records. We will use reasonable efforts to delete the child's information from our existing files.

Non-Personally-Identifiable Information Collected Automatically

In some cases, we may collect information about you that is not personally-identifiable. Examples of this type of information include the type of Internet Browser you are using, the type of computer operating system you are using, and the domain name of the Website and/or Internet Service Provider from which you linked to our site or advertisement.

Similar to personally identifiable information, we will not sell non-personally-identifiable information to third parties, unless stated at the time of collection. We may share non-personally identifiable information with business partners other than in direct connection with the provision of IP-Relay services.

Use of Cookies

When you view our Website(s) or advertisements, we may store some information on your computer. This information will be in the form of a "Cookie" or similar file and will be used to determine ways to improve the quality and usefulness of our Web sites, products or services. With most Internet Browsers, you can erase Cookies from your computer hard drive, block all Cookies, or receive a warning before a Cookie is stored. Please refer to your Browser instructions or help screen to learn more about these functions.

Accepting and Declining E-mail Offers

As outlined previously, we will only send email promotions or announcements to you if you have previously provided your permission for us to do so. Although many customers tell us they appreciate receiving notice of these carefully designed promotions and announcements, we recognize the importance of providing you with choices. At any time, you may unsubscribe from our e-mail list by filling out our simple online unsubscribe form. All e-mail offers that you receive from Purple will inform you of how to decline receiving further email offers.

Article and Comment Content

The views of the authors who submit articles published on IP-Relay are their own and are not necessarily shared by Purple. Purple does not endorse and has no control over the Comments to articles on IP-Relay, submitted by others. Submitted Comments are not necessarily reviewed by Purple prior to posting and do not necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of Purple. Purple makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the content of these Comments. Nonetheless, Purple reserves the right to prevent you from submitting Comments and to edit, restrict or remove such Comments for any reason at any time. Purple assumes no responsibility for actively monitoring Comments for inappropriate Messages. If at any time Purple chooses, in its sole discretion, to monitor the Comments, Purple nonetheless assumes no responsibility for the content of the Comments, no obligation to modify or remove any inappropriate Comments, and no responsibility for the conduct of the user submitting any Comment. You also agree to permit any other user of IP-Relay to access, view, store or reproduce the material for that other user's personal use and not to restrict or inhibit the use of IP-Relay by any other person.

Updating Privacy Policy

From time to time Purple may update its IP-Relay or other website privacy policy. When it does so, we will post the updated policy on such website(s), note the effective date of the new policy, and, if the changes are deemed by Purple to be material, provide an overview of the material changes for 30 days after the effective date at the top of the updated policy to provide notice of the changes.

Who to Contact

If you have submitted personally-identifiable information through a Purple Web site or interactive advertisement, and would like that information deleted from our records, please contact us. We will use reasonable efforts to delete this information from our existing files.
